Background
As recruitment marketing becomes increasingly interconnected, transparency and standardized measurement of job advertising traffic quality are critical. Without clear benchmarks, assessing the effectiveness of media spend across publishers and analytics platforms—regardless of payment model (CPM, CPC, CPA)—remains challenging.
Why It Matters
- Non-Human Traffic: 51% of online traffic comes from bots, surpassing human activity. (Imperva, 2025). Should these clicks be counted?
- Relevant Geography – Does foreign traffic count in the U.S. and European job markets?: For example, while 16.5% of Austrians express interest in working abroad (Indeed EU15 Movers Index, 2015), many employers may not consider them viable candidates for jobs advertised in the U.S. or other European markets.
